Who we are
TAI Community Based Organization is local organization striving to achieve lasting improvement in the lives of deprived children, women, and marginalized groups and the general community in Meru County through capacity building and empowerment for sustainable development.
TAI CBO is registered by the then Ministry of Gender Culture and Social Development, Igembe South Sub-County, Meru County, Kenya under registration number NYB/CD/001/2001 in the year 2001.
TAI CBO operates in Igembe South, Igembe Central and Igembe North Sub-Counties of Meru County, Kenya. The CBO was established in the year 2000 and formally registered in 2001 with an aim of implementing community development programs to alleviate poverty and human suffering in the rural parts of Igembe Region. Being a community based organization TAI CBO has been able to work closely with the community members through capacity building initiatives. These initiatives have enabled the people to appreciate and adopt skills that with time we can see there is gradual positive change of attitude towards vulnerable children and women and reduction of violation of their socio-economic and political rights.
NUTRITION, PESTICIDES AND CANCER AWARENESS
Tai CBO promote education of the community especially women on nutrition and share important information on effects of chemicals on human health and encourage the community to practice safe and proper farming methods.
SAVING THE BOY CHILD
Tai CBO has been fighting for the plight of the boy child which remains a big challenge to the Meru community. During the price giving for pupils who excelled in their academic performance at a local school,
SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAM
Tai CBO started the feeding program for the Orphans and the vulnerable at Kabachi Community Based Academy
SUPPORTING EDUCATION OF THE ORPHANS AND THE VULNERABLE
This year TAI CBO is supporting 5 OVC to acquire secondary education and 25 OVCs with primary education scholarships.
